God's Blessings

God blesses His people. But, we are told to "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." Proverbs 15:27 says "He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, But he who hates bribes will live." "Godliness with contentment is great gain". I Timothy 6:6 [It is great gain for your soul to have contentment and godliness.] "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out." (verse 7) Verse 5 talks about "useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain." and tells us "From such withdraw yourself." In other words, stay away from those who seek to be rich through "godliness" and don't seek riches, but seek God. And be content with what you have. "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition." I Timothy 6:9 Lord, help us to seek you first and be content with what we have.

AMERICAN WOMAN?

I usually only listen to some form of Christian music, but this song has been going through my head lately:

I like the message, but I have to confess that it applies to men as well. I know we are influenced by people we hang out with, but also by the junk we watch on TV, the movies or music we listen to. Our culture feeds our tendency not only toward materialism and a self-centered attitude, but outright evil.

Romans 12:2 says “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

The world and it’s culture is trying to squeeze us into it’s mold. Just ignoring it is not enough. We need to replace ungodly attitudes with godly ones.

I know the Bible and those who believe it are ridiculed these days, but it holds the words of life and truth that can transform our lives. Since prayer was removed from schools many years ago, and the Bible and the 10 commandments were kicked out of school, we have seen an increase in crime and immorality. I’m not saying this to try to get prayer and the Bible back in the schools, though I think that would be a good thing, but I think we need to see prayer and the Bible restored in our own lives.

God is real and He speaks to us through the Bible and through His Spirit, if we are listening.

We are all “sinners”—we have missed the mark and fallen short of the goodness of God. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” But He sent His Son Jesus, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:17.

The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death.” Not only will our body die, but the Bible says we are dead already if we don’t have the Son of God. “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” I John 4:12

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…” John 1:12

You don’t need a priest, or preacher to receive Jesus. Just speak to Him from your heart and ask Him to forgive you and come into your life.

Why am I not happy with my church?

Why am I not happy with my church?

1. Worship of the Lord. God inhabits the praises of His people. The purpose of our time of worship should not be to sing some songs, but to enter in to the very presence of God.

2. Spiritual teaching. The teaching should be in the simplicity and power of the gospel, and not a seminary. Holy Spirit inspired teaching is not complicated or dry, but full of life.

3. Prophecy. In my experience, when you are getting good sound and basic teaching, and you are experiencing the very presence of God in worship, the next thing that will happen is God speaking to the congregation through prophecy. Prophecy should be judged according to the word of God, by those who are mature.

God can move through each one of us in our various gifts. Not all of these gifts function or are obvious during a meeting, but few churches are moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. What is the answer? I think it starts with a revival in each one of our hearts.

What is the Meaning of Life?

I work hard to earn a living, to pay the bills, so I can live comfortably and have some fun. “And then you die”.

God is real. He made us for His pleasure. But it is not a one-sided deal. He wants to give US HIS pleasure too. It comes from knowing Him; from having a relationship with Him. Nothing can compare with that pleasure.

In the day to day toil and busyness, I forgot my purpose: To know God. Nothing else matters.

I want to fulfill His purpose, His plan for my life.

I don’t need to do anything to make His plan for me happen. God will do it. I just need to keep my focus on Him and listen and follow His leading.

God loves you. If you don’t know Him, He has made a way for that to happen. It is through His Son Jesus the Christ. Accept the Love of God through Jesus’ sacrifice for you. God loves you more than you know.

“Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.” --Jesus.
